Summer Solstice was the perfect day to dedicate Ste. Genevieve’s first public sculpture dedicated to art, and we honored the first artists who lived in this area — the Native Americans. Silver Sycamore Gallery is so proud of these two artists — Leon Basler created the design (inspired by etchings on pottery unearthed locally)

and with the help of local metalsmith, Stan Winkler, made it come to life! Funding from the Ste Genevieve Art Guild made it all possible.  Check it out — it’s on the west side of the Ste Genevieve Art Center on Merchant Street downtown.
