Our featured artist for August’s Fourth Friday Art Walk is our gallery curator, Janice Nabors Raiteri. She will be on hand to chat and answer questions about her paintings and her process. And of course, you’ll enjoy our usual array of beautiful and unique artworks.
In her past art life, she studied at Memphis College of Art and nationally acclaimed artists. Over the years, she’s enjoyed solo and group shows in Memphis (TN), Portland (OR), Lawrence (KS), Oxford (MS), and now, Ste Genevieve (MO). Two of her paintings became labels for special fund-raising editions of Washington state wine, two others were installed in LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis., and many others were donated for various charity and non-profit auctions over the years.
Janice says, “I think in ink…working with inks and fluid acrylics. I make mistakes, add a layer, try something else…to create paintings that evolve and reveal themselves, enticing the viewer to stop, linger, and search.”
